Tour Washington, August 1814

Visit key sites, read original accounts, and uncover what happened during the British invasion of Washington, August 24 and 25, 1814.

The tour starts at 144 Constitution Ave, NE, at the Sewall-Belmont House. From there it continues to the U.S. Capitol, the White House, and the site of the first Patent Office. The truly adventuerous can trek to the end of Ohio Drive SW in East Potomac Park to look across the Washington Channel at Greenleaf Point.
